3.1.3 NETWORK TOPOLOGY

What is network topology?

 The layout of the computers and devices in a communications network.

 

Basics type of network topology ; 

➪ Star Network Topology

Example ; 

Advantages : If one device fails, only that device is affected.

Disadvantages : Network will be malfunctioned single switch break down.

 ➪ Bus Network Topology  

Example ; 

Advantages  : Inexpensive and easy to install.

Disadvantages :  Network will be malfunctioned if single central cable break down.

➩ Ring Network Topology

Example ;

Advantages  : Data packet are flowing in one direction at high speed around the ring.

Disadvantages : Network will be malfunctioned if device or cable break down.
